But what does the european debts crisis all really mean?

Firstly, the three big boys have loaned many of their neighbours over $3 Trillion. Their neighbours can not pay them back, so they are also technically bust. Any more unrecoverable loans will have to be paid through "Quantitative Easing", ie. money printing, by G & B & F. But this would normally lead to inflation and these countries are already experiencing over 5% inflation rates.

The USA's debt is mainly held by China who isn't likely to get their money back either. China has been using their liquidity to purchase capital goods and infrastructure, but their populace isn't prospering enough to be able to afford the massive expensive housing that has been built. They are on the verge of their own USA style sub-prime mortgage defaults.

Back in Canada, we have helped our banks build up a tiny capital reserve, but they are still exposed to significant questionable investments. Our government has cut its' corporate tax rates and has done nothing to stop foreign and international companies from exporting at artificially low prices so they can skim their earnings into offshore bank accounts. Deficit days are ahead.

Canadian beavers are hanging on to our jobs and trying to pay down our credit cards by offloading our debts into lower interest rate lines-of-credit and mortgages. We are hoping we can start paying off our mortgage principal before the creeping inflation leads to interest rate hikes by 2014. In fact, when we renew our mortgages then there is a real possibility we will be facing the same dung as the yanks experienced in their sub-prime rate mortgage renewals.

The other black cloud is in property values that may decrease if the global crisis results in a major recession or depression. One side of our brain says hold on to get the benefit of inflation, but the other side is saying that whatever we pay off in principal may be devoured by a drop in real estate values.

Any drop in real estate values will hurt the banks who have 80% of Canadian mortgages. Their creditors will demand more collateral on the money they borrowed to lend to us. Thus the Bank of Canada will have to do more "quantitative easing" to support the banks again.

So it looks like we have dropped over a waterfall and are being swept into a whirlpool.

I think I'll just try to find a smaller beaver lodge, get out of debt asap, and mind my own business for a while. I just can't trust the muskrats in government or the weasels in banking to do anything that will protect me and my pups. In fact, they are likely to try and dump their losses on us sooner than later.

Keep your tails down!

Bob the Beaver

Conservative Crime Bill Scary!

Canadian Beavers should be marching on Ottawa en mass before the CRIME Bills C51-54 get passed by this majority government.

The media has focussed upon some get tough clauses on youth and repeat offenders, but they have not sounded any alarm bells about the extensive new powers being promised to government law enforcement agencies.

The public's privacy in their homes, or anywhere else, is about to be wiped out! My wife Betty Beaver is also almost in tears over the crazy prices for groceries and stuff from the big box stores. It seems that everything has skyrocketting prices, but the rodents in Ottawa say inflation is only 2-3%.

You know, all this price gouging is because we don't control our own economy anymore. Foreign bureaucrats and global corporations are running the show nowadays. Canadian beavers are just treading water faster and faster in our own little pond.

During the past twenty years, the financial vultures financed the takeover of all competitors in one industry after another until most industries in Canada are controlled by less than six companies. These corpulent moguls now control what we buy and how much we pay. The "free-market-economy" has evaporated.

In fact, Canadians are forced to pay "global prices" for our own: wheat, oil, minerals, lumber, fish, farm produce, manufactured goods, energy, water, telecommunications, etc. etc. etc. We no longer run our own show.

Foreign governments are also using their government "Sovereign Investment Funds" to buy up Canada's resources at an alarming rate. Heck, Canada doesn't even have a "Sovereign Fund" of its own!

We are being mopped up by foreign governments and global corporations without paying any attention to the needs of our kids and following generations of Canadians!

It is time to stop playing nice little Beaver. Canadians need to build a great beaver dam around our country and stop giving away our resources and our economy to the self-interests of foreign enterprises and governments.

Bob the Beaver

Canada an "IDIOCRACY"?

Us beavers have to ask ourselves if our form of self-government hasn't turned into an "IDIOCRACY"?

We recently elected a Conservative government because it is better to elect the anti-consumer we know than an ex-patriate we don't know and wouldn't trust in our canoe on a calm lake.

But really... we canuks haven't figured out how to run our country. It seems our skill and intellectual levels peaked at coaching a team of 8 year old hockey players.

Our government-directed economy favours the growth of fewer and fewer companies forming price-gouging business cartels in almost every industry. Establishing successful new businesses in any industry is as rare as a civil servant demanding to be paid at par with the private sector.

There is no price competition any more in any sector of our economy. Have you tried to get a reduced rate on your auto insurance or your life insurance lately? Do you drive 90kms out of town to get a 4% price reduction on your gasoline? Have you actually got a lower mortgage rate from one financial institution to the next? Have you noticed that each big box chain store retailer never actually prices at the "suggested list price" anymore? Even car dealers don't allow their sales men to offer a discount... and then watch out for all the extra hidden charges they have made up? (same on your service bill)

Have you tried to buy a plane ticket to paradise lately? The prices go up and down daily depending upon the tickets sold. Groceries have gone nuts! Soon they will tax our home-grown fruits and vegetables. Hockey tickets are outrageous. The medical and pharmacological players might as well be privatized as they are gouging OHIP and OHIP is charging us a gazillion dollars to control the prices of medical care. (By the way, did you realize that medical expenses for car accidents are billed at higher than OHIP rates to the insurance companies?)

And what about the CRTC's communications industry cartels? The consumer is being gouged while the CRTC protects the industry from new competitors. Energy costs are rising like swamp gas in a cesspool. Privatizing Ontario Hydro was like plugging these guys directly into our beaver lodge's bank account.

It sure looks to me like we are living in a financial dictatorship run by companies colluding on supply and prices, who are supported by our government bureaucrats and naive politicians.

Even our "Competition Bureau" has never gone after these cartels and instead they have gone after the most competitive sector in our economy, real estate. If they suceed in their latest attack on the Toronto Real Estate Board they will severely reduce the competitiveness of the 90,000 independant realtors in Canada and set the stage for the corporatization of this industry.

Canadians have tolerated the gradual increase in government regulatory powers and control over consumer acquisition of family wealth. But, the ordinary beaver didn't expect that industries would be allowed to also control supply and prices for their insatiable greedy ambitions. Canadians are experiencing the oppressive powers of extreme capitalism and extreme socialism.

Nobody, other than the CFP, is offering the solutions to this conundrum. The "idiots" are controlling us, the "idiots" are not changing the rules, and unfortunately... the "idiots" elected all of them! This is why we have evolved into an "IDIOCRACY".

Slap your tails on the pond!

Bob the Beaver

Selling Your Vote?

These politicians might just as well slither around and hand eveyone $2000 to vote for them. They are making about $36 billion in election promises to the 18 million voters that they have no ability to pay!

In fact, they will have to tax us back the $36 billion they are promising to give us.

Perhaps Canada needs to change Halloween to May 2? The goodies they are promising to freely give us would make any poor beaver drool down his chin.

The Conservative Party promised $100 million to boost police forces and discourage gang membership. Think about it. They didn't promise you or me this $100 million. No, they promised the money would go to the civil service bureau involved in Crime Prevention and the expanding of police forces.. The Conservatives want to buy the civil service votes on mass. They have no intention of cutting back on our massive civil service costs!

The Liberal Party has promised $4000 per university or college student to be applied to their tuition. Now if that isn't a vote purchasing game, I don't know what is!

The NDP Party has targetted the Senior beaver vote with "protection" of pensions... not major increases. They are running on a "feel secure" platform that lacks substance to most voters.

And the Green Party, will raise corporate taxes and thus eliminate any possibility of generating capital to invest in new jobs. Now there is a really dumb move!

Let's face the fact that Canada's official political parties just don't see the big picture. Canadian families don't give a darn about all these payouts to other segments of society. Canadian families want a clear vision of where Canada is going and what opportunities there will be for their kids.

Canadians want a long term Vision for Canada that provides a fair distribution of our natural and economic wealth. They want to see the way Canada will utilize all the new technologies to make this country the most successful nation in the world. They want to see how we will establish a culture where individual effort and merit is rewarded regardless of social status, cultural heritage or nepotism. They want political leadership with a clear understanding of how to change our country's course without job losses and investment retreats.

Canadians want a party that doesn't exist yet! They want a CFP - Canadian Federalist Party. But they don't even know it already exists in a virtual website. Hey, maybe it is time for us beavers to start slapping our tails on the waters of this country to get the message out?

Maybe you can send a birchbark letter to your friends and relatives to check out: www.canadianfederalistparty.com ?

Man, the silence in this wilderness is driving me nuts. The sad call of the loons seems to indicate that most Canadian beavers have fallen asleep.

Hey, it's time to start slapping your tails on the water!

Bob the Beaver

Winning Election Can Be Easy!

Every single beaver I meet says the same things.

"We have to vote for one party or another, but none of them care what I seriously think about." or

"We all know what is wrong, but none of the parties have the courage to do it!" or

"They really shouldn't be criticizing each other's character in the mass media. It just isn't Canadian! "

"Every time an election comes, I have to vote for what I think is the party that will do the least damage... not the most benefit for Canada."

Well let me tell you what every single beaver is thinking:

"Canada's problem is its massive civil service costs."

" The civil service employees are over-paid for what they do."

"The civil service employees are ripping everyone off with their exhorbitant benefits and pension plans and job security."

"No political party has the guts to stand up to the gigantic civil service union monster."

"The civil service unions extort the private citizen beavers with an unlimited appetitie for wage and benefit increases."

"The civil service membership is so large, and they vote almost on mass, so no political party can dare to challenge them."

"We love our civil servants, but they have become way too greedy."

"Canada has to get out of debt, but we will never do it until someone brings the civil service under control."

So, there you have it! The secret to winning an electoral majority is to show Canadian beavers how they will stop the public sector union army.

The Canadian Federalist Party is not afraid of the public sector unions. In fact, it respects them for what they have done for their members. The private sector has fallen way behind in taking care of its members. But the CFP will devise programmes to even the playing field between both sector's workers.

Once this is accomplished, Canada will have plenty of its own capital to re-build our nation.

Meanwhile, we are most likley heading into another minority government. Unfortunately, it also means that the gap between the public and private sector beavers will continue to widen.

I just hope us beavers can find a tree big enough to cross this widening gap.

Keep the chatter going!

Bob the Beaver

Federal Election 2011

Four Federal elections in seven years says a lot to us worn out Beavers about present day Canada. Perhaps the strongest message is that none of the national political parties appeal to a significant number of us. We are fed up with their false promises, their corrupt practices and their constant bickering!

At the CFP website you can click on "links" at the top and visit their websites. Wow - what a bunch of motherhoods and malarky?

The Conservative slogan is "To work to keep taxes low." Well if that isn't a piece of weasel scatt... Since when did any beaver who has paid their taxes think that taxes are low! The Conservatives think taxes are low! What would it take for them to think taxes are high!

And then the Liberal slogan is "Putting an end to waste". Well I'll tell you, I've smelled some "ends" that don't stink as much as their election platform. Having this election is a gigantic "waste" so what the heck do they mean? If you see the number of times they mention Big Beaver "Harper", it is obvious they can't think for themselves... they can only criticize someone else... These aren't acceptable values or credentials to get any beaver's vote.

And the New Democrats have a slogan of "Practical First Steps". Sounds a bit like they can only take "Baby Steps". They do seem to make a few promises that will appeal to the majority of Beavers, but they don't have a mature enough vision to make changes without sinking the canoe.

I'll tell you, it is sure frustrating to have to be patient until we can officially afford to launch the CFP as a serious political contender. In the meantime, I hope some "federalist" beavers will stand up and become independent candidates. Canadians need a real choice and none of these old, worn out, americanized "copy cat" parties have earned any respect by the voters.

I'm amazed how many concerned beavers have decided to boycott this election. Perhaps the final voter turnout will give us a true idea of how many beavers have been brainwashed by media hype.

The Canadian media crows love an election because they will have 6 weeks of "news" stories. But don't expect them to dig down to the grass roots to discover what most of us really think.

I was hoping to put my snowshovel away... but it looks like I'll be needing it to shovel a growing mound of c..p!

Well, keep your head to the stump!

Bob the Beaver

Government Beavers' Wages 42% Higher!!!

WOW! We all suspected beavers on government pay cheques were wizzing down the rapids on bigger and better logs and living in fancier beaver lodges, but 41.7% higher compensation than comparable private sector wage slaves is downright larceny!

The Canadian Federation of Independent Business reported this statistic on page 9 of its' newly released report: Restoring Canada's Fiscal Fitness. Basic salaries are 17.3% higher for the same jobs in the public vs. private sectors.

With their unions repeatedly extorting (extort: obtain by intimidation, importunity, etc.) the politicians, who graciously accept pay raises to keep up with the unionized civil servants, the whole Canadian economic engine has been gummed up and slowed down to a snails pace. Since 1968, when the teachers unionized, the government beavers and weasels have grown fat whilst the private sector corporate wage slaves have been tossed in and out of diminishing paying jobs by voracious pythons of global origins.

Many of these former private sector workers are maturing self-unemployed in the invisible ranks of "consultants" who don't even show up on the unemployment statistics. But, if they do have one good year, the fat cats at Revenue Canada grab marginal taxes at rates of 39%, which leaves little for needed boosts to meagre pensions or savings.

There was a day in Canada when the private sector accumulated family net worth and then created innovative new enterprises. They usually earned about 10-15% more than their comparable service sector employees. But by the 1970's this situation dramatically began to change and by 2011 the private sector workers earn only 70% of what the service sector workers earn. The servants have become the bosses and Canada's entreprenneurial initiative has been robbed.

Canada isn't alone in the expansion and domination of public sector workers to the point that national economies are strangled by government borrowings and massive fixed government overheads for job protection and lucrative pensions. Greece, Ireland, Spain and even Britain have all favoured government instead of private sector growth throughout the past 40 years.

We all have a difficult path ahead to restore an equitable re-distribution and balancing of wealth. There are also many other emerging priorities related to Canada's ageing population and $1 trillion debt.

The time has arrived for Canadian beavers to get their heads out of the muddy water, take a look around, and choose new political masters who can take a body check and still get down the ice to score some goals.

Keep you sticks on the ice!

Bob the Beaver

TSX-LSX Merger Anti-CDN Interests

Ontario Finance Minister Dwight Duncan identified "wild-eyed nationalists who don't know international business" as being irrelevant in the discussion concerning the approval of the stock exchange merger. I can only assume he was pointing a finger at us nationalistic beavers.

Little does he know that he was still in diapers when when many of us were involved in international businesses.

After his political career is finished he will be looking for a lucrative international business job. Does this mean he is biased and may not act in the best interest of Canadians? Should we be confident his ethical integrity will overcome whatever personal interests he might have in the outcome of the merger proposal?

This $3 billion proposal will undermine Canadian influence over $trillions in our current economy. From personal experience in one of Canada's largest foreign controlled businesses, I know that the Cdn president asked for American approval to spend a miniscule $25,000 that wasn't previously approved in his hundreds of millions of dollars budget. Foreign control is exactly that and a merger creates foreign control. Don't believe for a minute that Canadians will have control of a new TSX-LSX!

The bottom line is that the owners of the merged TSX and LSX alone will profit by access to a larger pool of commission paying and registration paying stocks. The fact that a company is headquartered somewhere else in the world doesn't matter to them. After all, many foreign resource stocks are already listed on the TSX.

In fact, the TSX is the pre-emminent resource stock market in the world. So, if some resource companies in London can't raise capital, they should list on the TSX where this kind of capital is already plentiful. This would be basic good "international business" sense.

Canadian beavers need to be wary of the domestic and foreign weasels who proclaim our market is "too small" for "international business" needs. This is pure poison ivy. We have served the global resource markets effectively for 100 years.

In fact, most legitimate investors prefer the Canadian stock exchange because they know it has a reputable level of integrity and is closely policed. In a global business world where even huge financial institutions have had their paws in the honey-pot, "international business" men truly prefer the security of Canadian controlled markets. Furthermore, those who claim our markets eventually will be bought up by Americans are globalists who want financial moguls to establish even more influence and control over our Canadian autonomy and independence.

Canada should be involved in "international business", but we must stop shipping out so much profit to foreign companies who own or control the trading in our resources. These funds are lost to internal Canadian re-investment and are easily structured to avoid paying significant taxes here. The bottom line is that the small cap beavers end up paying the Lion's share of taxes and these foreign concerns send zillions to their managers and directors outside Canada.

Canadians need to pressure our politicians to begin the process of securing our global autonomy. This merger should not be allowed to occur.

On the other hand, if the LSX is so short of investment capital, maybe they would like a national beaver fund to just buy them out?

Sorry guys... bite my tail... if you dare!

Bob the Beaver

Back to Basics for Banks

The fat bankrupt bank beavers have been bailed out by the taxpayers, so it is time for them to get back into their proper social roles. Leveraged derivates can only lead back to another precipice, so how about some good old fashioned banking?

Canada built their rich banks on the backs of homeowners and entrprenneurs, not hedge fund gamblers. To move forward, we need the banks to get back in bed with ordinary Canadians who need ordinary loans to finance their property, capital equipment and inventory investments. These are the loans that stimulate our economy by creating new jobs and new industries.

We also need the porky government agencies to lose some weight and the high metabolism tax weasels to go on a diet. Everyday Canadian beavers need a chance to pay off their lines of credit, credit cards and car loans/ leases. Income taxes need to be cut much more than corporate taxes.

By improving the balance sheets of middle class and lower income Canadian beavers, we will be able to create a stable and growing job market for all Canadians. Canada has always needed a strong small business sector that provides 70% of employment.

Our government policies must not continue to favour international corporations who close plants and lock out workers as soon as a cheap labour market emerges elsewhere. We can not endanger our autonomy by signing international trade agreements that give these global players legal control over us. It is time to finance domestic businesses- not investments by foreign corporations and foreign government agencies.

Canada needs its own Sovereign Investment Enterprise, just like the Saudi's, Chinese and other wealthy nations around the world. We need a long-term strategy and game plan.

It just doesn't make sense to be generous to those who are making hay out of our oil reserves and forcing Canadians and our industries to pay "world" prices for our plentiful supplies of this important resource. The Saudi's and Americans are setting the price of our oil- not Canadians!

We can't be shy beavers anymore. The next round of world trade negotiations will be over our fresh water reserves. The oil rich persian gulf countries have invested $trillions in their new infrastructures while Canadians just puff up our government bureaucracies.

Come on you beavers. It is time to defend and take care of our own pond!

How about sharpening your teeth on the head of a wooden muscrat bureaucrat?

Bob the Beaver

Bill C-24 is SCARY!

So our paranoid cousins to the south want our government to pass Bill - C24 that gives them all the private info on Canadians boarding flights passing through USA airspace. Maybe with this info they can scramble some jets to force your flight to land on USA soil?

Canadian beavers are personally concerned about the rapid spread and integration of databases around the world that contain personal information that is quickly outdated and unfortunately contain erroneous or incomplete data. These databases are extremely difficult to modify or correct and thus often create more problems than they help resolve.

Bill C-24 is yet another process for creating huge collections of information that rarely, if ever, produce more effective investigations than standard security practices. There is a mythology developing that these databases will find a needle in a beaver dam or a beaver dam with a needle. But as anyone with common sense, who are not suffering from muscrat paranoia, will realize, criminals will have false identifications whenever they travel. Thus, the database will only identify beavers who have had minor past indiscretions or been afflicted by bureaucratic errors.

Canadians really don't feel that we should be creating a global digitized personal identification network for future generations of Canadians. I think this step will encourage more marginalization of individual thinkers and lead to greater mass paranoia and extremist groups. There is a crucial balance between individual rights and individual freedom that can be thrown into imbalance by excessive monitoring and control. We don't want to lay the groundwork for the world to become prison-like for future generations.

As you know, during the past twenty-five years there has been accumulating sympathy for an eventual global government. Such databases and international integration will pave the way for such a freedomless New World Order. Canadians must put their paws down now and refuse to participate in this perilous journey.

In the case of Bill C-24, it is crucial for the conscience and soul of our politicians to rise above party solidarity and stand against this further intrusion into personal privacy.

Also, real criminals or political terrorists will travel with fake ID anyway and these databases will not provide any advantages over traditional security investigations.

Beavers around the world are watching our response to this imperialist demand by our giant neighbours. Frankly, aren't they big enough to take care of their own security without creating the beginnings of a global personal database?

Frankly, it seems that we are turning into americanized Buffalo stampeding towards a precipice instead of individualistic and industrial Beavers which is our cultural heritage.

Keep your tails away from falling trees!

"Bob the Beaver"

Who Really Benefits From Quantitative Easing?

So the world is finally learning the truth about $USA, Yuans, Euros, $Cdn,Francs, Lira, Yen, Pesos, etc. Currencies are merely empty promises by governments to pay their currency promises with currency promises. They even eliminated their old promise on currencies to pay the bearer an equivalent amount in silver or gold. Now currencies are merely described as "legal tender", meaning they can be used to pay off debts.

(For those of you who are new readers of Bob the Beaver's commentaries, you should know that Bob uses plain, beaver on the pond, language and terminology as much as possible.)

Thus, countries in debt can just print legal tender, or create more electronic records of legal tender in computer databases, and use this extra supply of money to pay off existing debts.

Of course, if the creditors, public or the media saw what was happening they would slap their beaver tails in warning. But governments obscure what they are doing by selling new money at a discount to banks who can borrow cheaper than anyone else and lend it out at a profit or buy interest earning debts to make more profits.

The problem is that by loaning the banks all this cheap new money, the banks are borrowing more money than ever before. In fact, their deposits have dropped from 10% of their borrowings to less than 2.5% in the USA and many other countries and 3.2% in Canadian banks. This leverage of 31:1 and over 40:1 is way beyong the 14:1 ratio between loans and deposits considered sustainable for the past 70 years.

In ordinary beaver family terms it is equivalent to owning a $500,000 home with only a $7500 downpayment, (2.5%). Such a family would likley have their house foreclosed if the value dropped to $492,500. Any business with only 2.5% equity or collateral would be put into receivership the next day. In basic language the banks have drowned and only artificial respiration can save them. (No beaver would ever give them "mouth to mouth" resucitation - especially in Canada where they have free health care if they can tread water long enough to get treated.)

So the bottom of the pond is that governments are printing money for banks faster than Mexicans can grow pot, Afghanis can grow poppies or Canadian Beavers can chug-a-lug beers.

All this extra supply of national "yingos" means that by 2011, imports are going to cost these countries more "yingos". But the big problem will be that the average beaver will have to pay more for his needs when he isn't receiving more of these new "yingos" in his paycheck. In fact, he will have to either borrow extra "yingos" or cut back his consumption of goods and services. This causes a recessionary whirlpool.

However, the fact is that China, India and other developing countries have billions of people who want a middle class lifestyle. These countries have acquired the new technologies of the past 40 years from the developed economies and are creating the next generation of technologies for themselves.

The economic and social momentum they have begun will be impossible to stop. They will still need the goods, services and commodities produced by the countries with decreased value currencies. What is happening is that they are transiting from net exporters to net importers.

As the education and skills and technology of a middle-class workforce increases the cost of their domestic products and exports, other countries will find them to be less affordable. Similarly, as the new middle class prospers, imports will increase and thus lead to trade deficits.

It was this process that occurred in the developed economies during the past 60 years and that will likley occur in the developing economies during the next 40 years.

Financing this economic cycle during the past century was strongly influenced by monetary policies designed to remedy major recurrent financial crises. There was no real global monetary plan or perspective so financial markets were relatively free to do the expedient in an increasingly liberallized financial environment.

But the underlying problem throughout this period was a lack of capital and cash to meet the needs of an increasingly democraticed world. Inflationary fears kept monetary supplies tight for most of these years. Thus, the financial sector had to find new ways to leverage sparse financial resources. The financial crises of 2007 through 2015 have been brought about by the excess leveraging of capital which was caused by a lack of financial liquidity in a rapidly developing world.

Thus, the hope and expectation of quantitative easing is to increase financial liquidity and reduce capital leverage in the near term. In other words, by expanding the size of the financial pond it will enable more beavers to become middle class citizens.

During this transition, wealthy beavers want to hold onto their proportionate share of the pond so that they can remain big beavers in a small pond. In the past they could control the flow of capital and size of the pond. In fact, there is evidence that they are redirecting the growing flow of new funds into their share of the pond that they have damned up.

But the good news is that the pond will be bigger sooner than later and the little beavers may soon swim in the new pond of economic order. How this will take place is the subject of another commentary.

Keep your teeth sharp!

Bob the Beaver

Potash Sale is Treason?

Unbelievable! Canada supplies close to 50% of the world's supply of potash, a key ingedient in fertilizer. This is a non-renewable natural resource. It is sheer stupidity to give control of this essential natural resource to a giant global mining conglomerate.

According to The Economist, the purchaser already effectively controls and manipulates global supply and prices for a wide range of minerals. Aside from a short term bribe to the Canadian government, how will their price fixing help us ordinary Canadians and our potash customers over the next few generations?

This government is wrong to assume they can make a decision to bind future governments to a sell out deal to foreign interests. Canadian beavers have a right to own these resources for our future generations.

We all need to slap our tails on the water and make so much noise that these muscrats and weasels in Ottawa will back away from selling our heritage.

Keep your teeth sharp on the legs of politicians.

Bob the Beaver

World Leaders Gather in Toronto for "Pity Party"

(Bob the Beaver is excited about the official launch of the CFP - Canadian Federalist Party on Canada Day - July 1, 2010. Bob will be celebrating by travelling down Ontario's beautiful Madawaska River.)

Downtown Toronto is damned up like an over-populated lily pond as the G20 political leaders search for floating logs as they drown in debt.

In fact, about all they are expected to accomplish is to eat and drink so much that they will get stomach cramps and drown themselves. They just don't seem to realize that the solution to the global economic mess rests with China and the USA.

The fact that $trillions have been stuffed into the global economy will not make things more viable. Money has value when it is scarce - not when it is plentiful. There is an unlimited supply of electrons pretending they are money in the global banking and financial systems. At present, the number of electrons held by each country has mushroomed out of control and a new balance is needed.

The most significant balance is between China and the USA. Once they work out a balanced currency relationship, then everyone else can line up with them.

The USA needs to increase its' exports by having a cheap dollar value for its' goods and services. But to export stuff, it needs to make stuff the rest of the world wants. They haven't figured this part of the puzzle out yet, so their economy is not going in the right direction yet. This could take another 3 to 5 years.

China's problem is that they need to buy foreign natural resources. They need their currency to go up so that they can get more goods for their Yuan. While they held $trillions of over-valued $USA, they bought up vast tracts of natural resources and land all over the world. But now that this money has been spent, they need a new plan to balance trade with the USA.

Once these two countries find a workable balance, then the rest of the world's economies can get back into the game. Unfortunately, the Euro currency countries won't have much say and will have to wait for the giants plus emerging economies like India to get their economies rolling again.

The New World Economic Order will be focussed upon sourcing natural resources and energy supplies, both of which Canada has and what most other countries will want. The key for Canadians is that we need to conserve our natural resources and not get pulled into price wars for natural resources.

During the next five years, Canadians should be taking stock of what we have and plan for our future in this century. Us beavers have been diligently doing this planning as you can see at the CFP - Canadian Federalist Party website at http://www.canadianfederalistparty.com/ .

Keep you heads above water!

"Bob the Beaver"

Casino Bets Lower Risk than Stocks!

The media announced that with computerized stock buying and selling programmes trading shares in nano-seconds, regulators are calling for limits to speed of trading shares.

They noted that even race cars have engine limits for safety reasons. Obviously they feel that the world's stock markets aren't safe places anymore for peoples' savings and investments.

Only 20 years ago, stock values had some relationship to the actual values of company assets and equity. Nowadays, interim stock values are pretty much based upon the future cash flows and earnings guestimated by company managers and speculators.

But, instant values of stocks are not even based upon guestimates, they are based upon mathematical models that use probability theories about how many people will invest how much each time a stock begins to go up or down. This makes the 32 to 1 odds on a roulette wheel number look very attractive indeed!

But this isn't really what this blog is all about. It is about our government limiting us to invest our retirement savings in stock market RRSP's. These are extremely risky investments nowadays and many retirement investors have had their savings almost wiped out.

The government is limiting us to invest in the electron manipulation game of stock markets instead of offering us solid investments with hard intrinsic value. Land, property, gold and other precious metals are hard intrinsic investments. Portable intrinsic value investments could be held on our behalf by government. Our property and land could be held by us.

Canadians should be writing to the Minister of Finance and all their parliamentarians to get the rules changed. We should be allowed to transfer RRSP investment funds, tax free, directly into our mortgage principle.

In this way Canadians will have some control over our retirement wealth risk. We won't be easily victimized by financial speculators, incompetent stockbrokers, investment bankers and bank lenders.

The financial community is greatly tarnished and no longer deserves our unswerving confidence. (Did you know that American Bank reporting rules were changed in 2006 and allowed them to legally over-state their net worth by more than 100%?)

Canadians need to be protected. We need to be immediately permitted to transfer our RRSP's to fully pay down our mortgages without penalties from the Banks or the government.

Consumer debt includes our mortgages. Canadians need to reduce our debts to be able to fund our way into the future. RRSP's fund nothing but speculation.

Get off your tails Canada! Make some noise.

Keep your tails in the water.

Bob the Beaver

Budget Bludgeon

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 260px; height: 261px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_9RJ3C-qAilo/S5EzLnIYKUI/AAAAAAAAADs/MWysg46ORek/s320/sadhead.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5445189699043338562" />
Whooee! Cough, Cough, Cough!

With all the smoke and mirrors, we can't help but be choked by this new federal budget.

With 33 blatant and generalized nice sounding "motherhood" statements in the Throne Speach, the 2010 Budget intoduced the next day in parliament served up more pablum than a 20 pound baby beaver could eat.

The only positive note was that the Conservatives are finally increasing their estimated budget deficits to the levels the CFP - Canadian Federalist Party forecast 12 month's ago.

Basically, we have no one holding the tiller on our ship of state as it is swamped by the international and US based monetary scandal.

The tricky language used by the political "spin-men" and government bureaucrats says things like "There will be a $3.2 billion personal income tax relief." What they mean to say is that since unemployment is going up, and EI is running out for hundreds of thousands of beavers, and since people are being transferred into contract jobs instead of full-time jobs, then incomes of the 17.5 million taxpayers are going down, so they will collect $3.2 billion less personal tax.

But since the new HST will baloon "provincial" revenues, the federal wing of the party has nothing to say.

The military cost reduction sounds nice financially, but it is merely a preposterous self-gratification and self-serving numbers game where the government takes credit for cutting the military budget increase from 8% a year to 4% a year. Duh, if you aint got the money, how can you take credit for not spending more?

Even the bureaucracy savings they mention are pure gass from under their beaver tails. The public sector is still guaranteed a 1.5% pay raise each year, while the rest of us in the private sector lose jobs by the thousands, take pay cuts, and take lower paying jobs!

The Treasury Department is supposed to be doing a full department by department review and then recommend cutting out low priority programmes. Do you really think this will amount to anything significant? Heck, just prohibit all but basic expense accounts for all government workers. The vast majority of beavers don't have an expense account to do their jobs, so why should government workers?

But the thing you didn't see in the Budget, or in mainstream media, is the debt each taxpayer is accumulating. Before the recession, each taxpayer was responsible for $26,500 of the federal debt.(I haven't looked up the provincial debt load yet.) With these recession budgets, in three more years our debt will grow $9000 each, to a whopping $35,500!

Government debt will soon cost $41 billion in interest payments each year and interest rates are bound to rise 50% during this same period.

Well, if our family of 4 taxpayers absorbes $142,000 more debt, ($35,500 x 4), to our balance sheet, we are truly "Up the creek without a paddle!"

The tragedy of all this is that the government knows they are going to plunge us further and further into debt until at least 2015. The plans they have come up with do not make any sense in the short or long term. The have no idea how to discipline our spending and begin investing where it will have the greatest positive impact upon the growth of our economy!

There is a naive misunderstanding that our middle classes will bail them out sometime in the future, and provide an unending growth in prosperity for government workers regardless of our economic health.

In spite of numerous missives directly to our political and government leaders, with solid recommendations on how to help grow the wealth of our middle classes, they are blindly drifting towards the waterfall.

You and I and everyone else with an iota of "common sense" knows that our country will prosper as the middle class prospers. We need to stop growing government, let it shrink quite a bit, and start helping the middle classes to get out of debt.

There are literaly a dozen excellent ways to do this. The question really is "Why won't the government transfer money directly to us instead of filtering it through thousands of government agencies and workers?" They have chosen to ignore the fact that all their resource revenues belong to you and me. They have chosen to ignore the fact that we deserve a say in how are taxes are used. They have chosen to ignore the fact that we aren't stupid. etc. etc.

Well that's enough insight for now. Watch for the brand new CFP website coming on-line sometime in March 2010 at: www.canadianfederalistparty.com .

Keep your tails in the water!

Bob the Beaver

"Golden Goal"

"Golden Goal" blasts Canadian beavers to the moon!

Well I'll tell you there were a lot of wet pants beavers when the yankee doodles scored in the last seconds of the biggest hockey game of this century. But, Superbeaver, Sidney Crosby, lifted our sagging Canadian spirits through the clouds on Gold Sunday, at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.

Canadian nationalism has finally broken out of the closet. Following years of political embarassment, and international disinterest, Canadian beavers got our days in the spotlight. Even Canadian beaver athletes who won secondary or no medals at all became Canadian heros during these Olympic Games. Legends were born.

Perhaps one of the more telling stories was the low profile of our political party leaders throughout the games. Our apparently bookish prime minister wasn't even mentioned as the cameraman focussed on him and Wayne Gretsky at a hockey game. Later the camera did focus on the PM doing rather awkward and stiff "high-fives" with reluctant spectators sitting nearby. The charisma of ordinary Canadians, winning or even losing medals, far excelled the spontaneity or leadership attributes of our PM.

Mr. Harper may be a mastermind of politics, but I don't think Canadian beavers would follow him onto the ice, never mind into a real battle.

Did you see the media scramble to recognize our nationalistic spirit? Hey guys -where have you been living? Canadians have always had a very deep seated nationalism. It has been your tactics of putting down every one who isn't a celebrity, or member of the media, that has made us bury our feelings below the water line.

Did you see Lloyd Robertson make his "revelation" that we do indeed have a nationalistic spirit? Duh - Lloyd, you have been watching yourself too much on TV! Did you notice his patronizing manner of handing over a piece of his broadcasting mantle to Brian Williams? Unfortunately, Canadian media has assumed an elitist role in our country and Canadians find them out-of-order and presumptuous.

Hopefully, this Olympic games will encourage our media to stop interviewing each other and start getting to meet and discover real Canadians and their values, beliefs and common sense.

Now that we are all back to work, and have got our feet firmly back on the ground, I'm hoping there are lots of Beavers out there who want to change the politics of this country.

The CFP, Canadian Federalist Party, is launching its' virtual web site this month at: http://www.canadianfederalistparty.com/ . Remember to check it out and get involved.

Hey Canada - "We Believe" - How about you?

Bob the Beaver

PEROGUE -- to Buy Time?

In January 2010, Canada's dysfunctional parliament was shut down until after the Winter Olympic Games. This was apparently a wise move by Primus Beaverus, Stevie Harper, as the bungling Liberal opposition was about to trip onto an election beaver -trap.

The Conservatives were smart to close the lodge doors because they had run out of ideas for legislation that would turn around the economy that would make the bureaucrats and the establishement richer. The only policies left would help the poor and increase the size and wealth of the middle classes.

Also, after the possible Canadian mania and frenzy over winning a Gold medal at home during the Olympics, the Conservatives will be able to brag and boast how they made it happen. They will then be ready for an election.

By the way. Bob the Beaver sent a 16 page macro-economic report to all the party leaders last February. He pointed out on page 15 that the deficit would exceed $50 billion, not the $27 billion the government was telling people in January. Low and behold, in June the government admitted the deficit would exceed $50 billion in 2009.

Bob has been working hard to create Canada's first "Virtual" political party, the CFP - Canadian Federalist Party. The new website: www.canadianfederalistparty.com should be on-line right after the Olympics.

This is a "grass-roots" party representing average nationalistic Canadians who will be able to provide all sorts of input to the party's policies and discussion papers.

Hopefully, there will be enough members to officially register the CFP in 2012 and even run candidates by 2015. Don't worry about the long start-up, as this is actually a very serious project with a vision for Canada over the next 100 years!

The CFP is a party for this century, but it will take some time to overthrow the firmly entrenched old parties.

If you like what you are hearing, then be sure to let your social network in on this revolutionary new concept for Canada's future. Canadians can now have realistic hopes for our future, and the future of our kids and grandchildren. The job has begun!

Don't chew on the deadwood!

Bob the Beaver

Yanks Giving Us The "Goldfinger"?

Well, I'll tell you, "It sure is weird that my few RRSP's gold shares and gold funds keep going up and then are shot down." The price of gold on the "free" market is doing the same thing.

It makes one think that maybe someone is manipulating gold prices just like those crooks were doing with oil prices in 2007 and 2008. I guess the yanks like to think of their dollar being the only currency in the world worth anything. Maybe this is why they are giving us all the "goldfinger"?

Even Mr. Big Beaver Buffet can't understand why the yankee dollar isn't sinking to the bottom of the pond. But I'm not so sure we should be paying attention to the mental meanderings of a gazillionaire who lost $25 billion last year.

In the USA, there are lots of rich Americanos trying to hold gold down so that Buffet doesn't make back his $25b. But I think it will be rogue states and individual billionaires who are forced into abandoning their US currency loyalties who will eventually drive gold up.

As long as the USA can print money with no apparent inflationary spiral effect, their government will continue to buy gold to hold its value down. The day the world becomes drunk on US dollars, and stops ordering more, will be the day gold seeks its' own ceiling.

Anyway, it sure is amusing to sit back and watch all these fat cat bullies scurrying around trying to protect their fortunes. I ain't got a fortune to lose, so I guess I'm sitting pretty on a stump!

Bob the Beaver

Money's Going Into the Wrong End of the Whirlpool!

You ever score a goal on your own net? This is what the economic dodos are doing in Ottawa.

The economic chain is made up of the financial sector, the government sector, the business and service sectors and the consumer.

During the past 12 years, the consumers around the world have been working their tails off so that they can fulfill their destiny... consume, consume, consume!

But, the financial sector sharks got into an addictive feeding frenzy. Finally, they created so many trillion extra electrons in their computers that they couldn't pay their debts when some of the consumers couldn't pay for their consumption obesity.

But, when the government musc-rats heard about this they only saw their friends at the country clubs and fine hotel dinning rooms crying. They then offered to help these big bankers and businessmen who told the muscrats that by helping them, they would restore the economy.

Whoa! Any beaver with a Canadian education can tell you that it is the financial foxes and business bulls who manipulated the economy for their own benefit in the first place. These are the bad guys!

The beavers are now in big trouble in the USA and many other countries. Canadian beavers are also in trouble as their retirement savings have plummeted in value, their homes are sliding down the rapids, and their credit card interest rates have been increased to the formerly illegal usurious rate of 28%. Also, the babyboomer beavers are closing in on retirement and only 14% will have enough money to retire. The other 86% will be impoverished within 6 years of retirement!

Duh! Isn't it obvious that by pouring money into the top end of the economic whirlpool, nothing will come out the other end? Isn't it obvious that the way to fix this mess is to improve the financial balance sheets of beaver families and consumers?

It looks to me that the economic dodo birds got it backwards by recommending "Supply-side" fiscal policies. No - the fast and only solution is to follow the economic Owls who recommend "Demand-side" fiscal policies.

The federal, provincial and municipal muscrats need to get the puck down to the other end of the rink. Then we'll score lots of goals.

By the way, me and my beaver friends have lots of successful offensive plays if anyone is interested.

Bob the Beaver

Whose's Getting Stimulated and Where?

This budget ain't stimulating any beavers I know - except under our beaver tails!

The federal muscrats are going to spend $258b this year through all of their sticky-pawed bureaucats. Us middle class beavers know that 70% of this money will end up keeping the lodges warm and the stomachs fed of the 300,000-plus civil service union country club members and their millionaire boss plutocats.

If some money does escape, it is going to the loyal party supporters and their few thousand construction workers. I didn't know the workers were short of work. Have you ever tried to find a plumber, electrician or carpenter lately? Even the road and sewer workers seem to be falling behing in their jobs as it takes months to get their barriers down.

Even if the government guarantees some loans made by the banks and some obscure government agencies, things aren't going to improve for the autoworkers and white collar workers. There are oodles of loonies looking for good investments right now. So, the government is only going to guarantee loans to bad and risky businesses that will never pay the interest and principal back to the banks.

So guess who will have to pay back the banks? And guess who will have to pay the government for their losses? And just how are we middle class beavers going to do this?

Bob the Beaver

Budget Cheapskates

Charity must begin at the beaver lodge, as it sure as heck doesn't come from the miserly muscrats at the beaver dam(n) in Ottawa!

Here we are teetering on the edge of a bigger waterfall than the one on the mighty Niagara, and the government throws us 112 loonies to buy a leaky lifeboat. This won't even heat the lodge for a month this winter!

Boy, the spin they put on this generosity would make us think that as soon as we spend these crumbs from their tables, the whole economy will "snap" back into place. I'm not a dumb beaver! Let's get this logic right.

As a middle class beaver, we give over 80% of the income taxes of $125b. If the government spends $100 billion more than they collect from us, then we owe the $100b. Then they spend this on themselves and their buddies, and in four years they want us to pay this debt.

Now, why would I borrow $100b, spend it on everybody else, and then pay back the $100b?
